Bladderwrack supports several organs and systems in the body due to its rich nutrient content and various beneficial compounds.

  • Thyroid Gland

Rich in iodine, which is essential for the production of thyroid hormones. It can help support healthy thyroid function and may be beneficial for individuals with hypothyroidism.

  • Nutrient Rich

Bladderwrack is a good source of vitamins (A, C, E, and B-complex) and minerals (magnesium, calcium, potassium, and iron), contributing to overall nutritional well-being.

Content for Origin.

Bladderwrack can be used in a variety of ways to benefit from its nutritional properties. Some include, tinctures, topicals, cooking additives, herbal infusions and many more.

For ease of use we recommend consuming as a herbal tea or in a smoothie:

Ingredients: 1-2 teaspoons of cut & sifted bladderwrack: 1 cup Boiling Water

Directions: Place herb in a tea infuser or tea pot. Pour boiling water over the herb to infuse. Let steep for 10-15 min. Strain and drink. Add agave, honey or whatever you prefer to taste.

Bladderwrack is generally considered safe for most people when used appropriately. However, there are certain contraindications and precautions to be aware of:

Hyperthyroidism: Due to its high iodine content, bladderwrack can exacerbate conditions like hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid).

Iodine Sensitivity: Individuals with a known allergy to iodine or seafood should avoid bladderwrack as it can trigger allergic reactions.

Medications and Supplements

Antithyroid Medications: Bladderwrack can interfere with medications used to treat hyperthyroidism.

Blood Thinners: It may interact with anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs, increasing the risk of bleeding.

Lithium: The iodine in bladderwrack may interfere with lithium levels, a medication used to treat bipolar disorder.

Other Supplements: Be cautious when combining bladderwrack with other iodine or thyroid-supporting supplements.
