Blessed thistle can be used in a variety of ways to benefit from its nutritional properties. Some include, tinctures, capsules, and herbal infusions. 

For ease of use we recommend consuming as a herbal tea:

Ingredients: 1-2 teaspoons of blessed thistle: 1 cup Boiling Water

Directions: Place herb in a tea infuser or tea pot. Pour boiling water over the herb to infuse. Let steep for 10-15 min. Strain and drink. Add agave, honey or whatever you prefer to taste. (can consume up to 3X a day)

 

Blessed Thistle is generally considered safe for most people when used appropriately. However, there are certain contraindications and precautions to be aware of:

Pregnancy: Not recommended during pregnancy as it may stimulate uterine contractions.

Allergies: People allergic to plants in the Asteraceae Family (ragweed, marigolds, daisies) should avoid using this herb

 

Medications and Supplements

Antacids: Blessed Thistle can increase stomach acid production, so it should be used with caution in individuals taking antacids or medications for acid reflux or ulcers. 

Diuretics: Due to its potential diuretic effect, it should be used cautiously in combination with other diuretics or medications that affect electrolyte balance
